Before you begin
Not every leader needs the same thing. Take two minutes to discover where you stand — and which pathway fits.
Leadership Development fit-check
Answer five questions honestly. We will map your responses to one of our development pathways and explain why it suits your current stage. No sign-up required — just clarity.
Question 1 of 5
How long have you held a formal leadership role?
"The leaders who grow fastest are not the ones with the most experience — they are the ones who understand exactly what to work on next."
— Founding principle, Core Virtue Leadership methodology
The growth framework
Our Leadership Development model is not a single programme. It is a structured map of six pathways, each calibrated to a different growth stage and organisational context.
| Pathway | Who it serves | Core focus | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Foundation | First-time managers within two years of appointment | Self-awareness, delegation patterns, feedback fluency | 8 weeks |
| Catalyst | Mid-level leaders managing cross-functional teams | Strategic influence, stakeholder navigation, conflict resolution | 12 weeks |
| Architect | Senior directors shaping organisational culture | Systems thinking, change architecture, executive presence | 16 weeks |
| Steward | C-suite and board members | Legacy leadership, governance clarity, succession design | Ongoing advisory |
| Pivot | Leaders transitioning between industries or roles | Identity recalibration, rapid credibility building, network strategy | 6 weeks intensive |
| Team | Intact leadership teams seeking alignment | Collective decision-making, trust repair, shared vision design | Bespoke engagement |
What the journey actually looks like
Weeks one to three
We begin with a diagnostic phase. You complete a proprietary leadership inventory, receive a confidential debrief, and co-design your development contract with your coach. Every engagement starts here because clarity before action prevents wasted effort.
The development arc
Structured around fortnightly coaching sessions, peer learning circles, and applied challenges that connect directly to your live work context. We do not teach theory in isolation. Every concept is tested against a real situation you are navigating right now.
Integration and momentum
The final phase focuses on embedding new behaviours so they outlast the programme. You build a personal leadership operating system — a documented set of principles, habits and decision filters that travel with you into every future role.
Decision board
Not sure whether this is the right moment? These criteria help you decide. We believe in honest timing — starting too early can be as wasteful as starting too late.
Signs you are ready
- You have received feedback you do not fully understand or know how to act on
- Your role has expanded but your leadership habits have not kept pace
- You sense a gap between the leader you are and the leader your organisation needs
- You have tried self-directed development and plateaued
- Your team's results are acceptable but you suspect they could be significantly better
Signs to wait
If you are in the middle of a restructuring that will change your role within the next sixty days, or if you do not yet have direct reports, a different kind of support may serve you better. We are happy to discuss alternatives honestly.
Our method in practice
We draw on behavioural science, adult development theory, and twenty years of coaching practice. But we wear our methodology lightly — the focus is always on your context, not our models.
Three commitments we make
First, we will never give you a personality label and walk away. Assessments are starting points, not destinations. Second, we will challenge you directly when we see avoidance. Third, we will measure progress against outcomes you define, not abstract competency frameworks.
Every coaching relationship includes a mid-point review where we recalibrate goals based on what has changed. Leadership Development is not linear, and our process reflects that.
"Most consultancies gave us frameworks. Core Virtue gave us a mirror and the courage to look into it." — Chief people officer, healthcare group
Leadership is not performed — it is practised. The leaders we work with come to us not because they are failing, but because they refuse to settle for adequate. That distinction matters to us deeply.
Start a conversation
Tell us a little about your situation. We will respond within two working days with an honest assessment of whether we can help — and if we cannot, we will point you toward someone who can.
